The Southeastern Fund
Investing to Equip

When Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary first opened its doors, it had only 85 students. Today, the school has granted more than 12,000 degrees, and we anticipate an annual enrollment of 3,500 by 2010.

In an effort to continue equipping students to serve the church and fulfill the Great Commission, Southeastern is working to improve both the campus and the curriculum. Part of this effort focuses on the continued building project of Patterson Hall, a 36,000 square foot structure which will be used for equipping pastors, local churches, community members and students to engage their culture and defend their faith.

Southeastern has also committed to two new degree programs which will aid students in reaching the world with the Gospel. It will begin offering the orality track for the Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies, which will be available in spring of 2008.

The institution has also begun offering a Master’s of Divinity in Collegiate Ministry, which will instruct students on how to “reach the nations” that have come to the American campuses.

In order to continue positive growth, Southeastern needs the support of its alumni. In 2008, the Office of Alumni Development asks you to prayerfully consider giving $10 a month in an effort to help Southeastern reach her full potential.

“Our alumni are forever a part of what is Southeastern Seminary. Praying for us, sending us students, and supporting us financially makes it possible for the great work that God is doing here to continue,” said Daniel Akin, president of Southeastern. “When many give a little it will equal much. When we give sacrificially our Lord blesses and multiples our gifts.”

Your gift to the Southeastern Fund - the seminary’s annual fund - directly supports each student and every Great Commission classroom. Each year presents special challenges with ongoing expenditures. As unrestricted gifts, these funds sustain the daily workings of the seminary and college wherever the needs and opportunities are greatest.

Every gift matters. Every contribution counts.

The giving goal for 2007-2008 is $750,000.
