Admissions

Application Process

We strive to make the application process as clear and simple as possible, and our Admissions Office stands ready to answer questions and offer whatever help we can.  You can contact them at admissions@sebts.edu, or 919-761-2280.  For general questions and information call 1-800-2Tim317, or email info@sebts.edu

All potential students for our Master of Divinity or Master of Arts programs should have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States. Future students should consult our Academic Catalog for detailed information about admission requirements.

Here is the information you will need for admission to Southeastern. Please take note that original forms are required. Faxed copies will not be accepted.

  • A completed application form and recent “head and shoulders” photo (color or black and white)
  • Three completed Character Reference Forms (one must be from a pastor)
  • A nonrefundable application fee of $40
The application fee can be submitted via check or money order.  Please include the name of the applicant on the check or money order and mail to the Admissions Office.
  • A completed Medical Information Form
  • A completed Immunization History Form (North Carolina State Health Department standards require that a completed immunization record be received by Southeastern.)
  • Official transcript(s) from all post-secondary schools attended, sent directly to the Admissions Office from the Registrar of each school previously attended.
  • A completed Church Recommendation Form
  • Spouse’s completed Personal Statement (if married)
  • A completed Southeastern Covenant

In some cases, additional documents may be required.

Deadlines

We recommend that you begin your application process at least 6 to 12 months in advance of the semester for which you are seeking admission. Application documents are valid for one calendar year. Application for non-degree seeking students and most masters programs must be submitted at least 30 days before the beginning of the semester. Applications for Master of Arts (Christian Ethics) and the thesis track of the Master of Theology must be submitted 60 days before the beginning of the semester. Potential students should also note that requests for campus housing are not processed until after a student has been accepted.

Most applications take about 30 days to process once all the required materials have been submitted. We take your privacy seriously, and all admissions materials are treated with confidentiality. If you have questions at any time during the admissions process, our Admissions Office will be happy to serve you. Just call (919) 761-2280 or e-mail admissions@sebts.edu.
