Active IMB Scholarship

  • The Active IMB Scholarship is for degree-seeking, fully-funded IMB missionaries/personnel who are currently serving on the mission field or a stateside assignment. The scholarship is equal to 50% of the SBC tuition rate and associated fees (does not count toward books, housing, or music program related fees). An eligible candidate may be a campus or distance learning student enrolled at full- or part-time status in any undergraduate degree through a first Masters’ degree at Southeastern (note: select degrees are offered fully online; please review degree program descriptions in the catalog for required on-campus components). If the student loses employment status with the IMB, he or she will no longer be eligible for the scholarship. This scholarship may not be combined with any other form of Southeastern-related aid. NAMB Scholarship.

  • The NAMB Scholarship is for degree-seeking NAMB missionaries/personnel who are currently serving on a full-time field assignment. Eligible candidates must be fully-funded employees of NAMB. The scholarship is equal to 50% of the SBC tuition rate and associated fees (does not count toward books, housing, or music program related fees). An eligible candidate may be a campus or distance learning student enrolled at full- or part-time status in any undergraduate degree through a first Masters’ degree at Southeastern (note: select degrees are offered fully online; please review degree program descriptions in the catalog for required on-campus components). If the student loses employment status with NAMB, he or she will no longer be eligible for the scholarship. This scholarship may not be combined with any other form of Southeastern-related aid. MK Scholarship

  • The MK Scholarship may be awarded to children of “active-duty” IMB or NAMB missionaries who are serving on the mission field. “Active-duty” means fully-funded, full-time, field assignment personnel. The scholarship is equal to the full cost of the SBC tuition rate and associated fees for any College degree program through a first Master’s degree at Southeastern (does not count toward books, housing, or music program related fees). Qualifications: parents of candidates must be active-duty, fully-funded IMB or NAMB missionaries; student age limit is 30-years-of-age upon enrollment; students must be active and participating members of a local Southern Baptist church and enrolled as full-time, degree-seeking students. The scholarship is not applicable to the spouse of the qualified child of missionaries and may not be combined with any other form of Southeastern-related aid. Returning Journeyman/ISC Scholarship

  • The Returning Journeyman/ISC Scholarship is available to full-time, Master’s degree-seeking students who have completed the ISC or Journeyman programs and who have a vocational commitment to mission services (returning from the field from within the last three years). The scholarship is equal to 50% of the SBC tuition rate and associated fees for a student’s first Master’s degree at Southeastern (does not count toward books, housing, or music program related fees). Students must be active and participating members of a local Southern Baptist church and enrolled as full-time, degree-seeking students (campus or distance learning) (note: select degrees are offered fully online; please review degree program descriptions in the catalog for required on-campus components). NAMB Ironman Reimbursement

  • Available to SBC lead bi-vocational pastors who receive the majority of their salary from a job outside the church they are serving or a lead church planter. Students are required to have completed a bachelor’s degree. Students must first qualify for the reimbursement through North American Mission Board (NAMB).
  • Interested Students should:
    • Review reimbursement parameters and apply here.
    • If approved by ironman, contact Southeastern’s Admissions Office or visit the institution’s Admissions page and catalog to find out the cost of each class/credit hour and number of classes/hours required to complete the degree.
  • How it works: awarded students enroll at Southeastern and pay out-of-pocket for classes. Once the semester is completed, approved students then submit receipt of grades and proof of tuition payment to NAMB for reimbursement (maximum reimbursement $2,400/yr.). Grades must be B (3.0) or above to qualified.
  • Reimbursement is limited and on a first-come, first-served application basis. A new request must be approved each semester prior to registering.

Barbara Osborn Memorial Mission Education Fund

  • The Barbara Osborn Memorial Mission Education Fund is a scholarship for Baptist Seminary students who are committed to international missions. The scholarship selection if administered by the Office of Global Strategy of the IMB, SBC. According to the fund agreement, scholarship recipients must (1) be a full time student in their final year of seminary owned, controlled or supervised by the Southern Baptist Convention or it successors; (2) Have made a commitment to enter the foreign mission field upon the completion of their seminary education and are in the application process with the IMB for appointment. Students participating in “2+2”, “2+3”, or similar programs are eligible for the scholarship in their last year of seminary. All students in their final year of seminary are eligible to receive the scholarship. This includes students attending extension centers and taking internet classes.
  • Scholarships shall be awarded on the basis of economic necessity and academic performance. All scholarship recipients must have maintained a passing grade point average during their seminary training.
  • To apply, students must request an application from the Financial Aid Office by February 1 for spring semesters, or October 1 for fall semesters.
  • Applicants will be notified of their status with regard to the awarding of the scholarship two months after the application deadline.
