Arkansas

Pryor Scholarship

  • Arkansas Baptists may apply for this scholarship related to educational expenses for those studying in religious education and/or music in order to serve in international or home mission work of the Southern Baptist Convention.

John and Ferrel Suttle Scholarship

  • Scholarships of $1,200 per year for students from Arkansas preparing for a full-time church related vocation or for an appointment with either the IMB or NAMB

Georgia Baptist Foundation

  • Eligibility:
    • Student must be a Georgia resident at time of enrollment in seminary
    • Must be endorsed by a church affiliated with the Georgia Baptist Convention; application will not be accepted without the complete name and address of the endorsing church
    • Must be a full-time seminary student taking classes on campus (extension center students may also receive funding)
    • Ph.D., Ed.D., D.M.A., or Th.M. candidates are considered eligible if in residence at seminary and considered full-time during the non-dissertation phase
    • D.Min. candidates may be eligible for a one-time grant of $175 for last semester prior graduation
  • Application:
    • Students should complete a new application form each semester
    • Application period for the Fall semester is July until the last day to drop fall classes; application period for Spring semester is January until the last day to drop spring classes;
    • $350 per semester (amounts may differ for extension, postgraduate, and advanced students)

Woman's Missionary Union of North Carolina Scholarship

  • The WMU NC scholarship is funded through the Edna R. Harris Endowment Fund. This scholarship was established in honor of Mrs. Harris and her love and work for missions.  
  • The scholarship is limited to women who have completed a Bachelor's level of formal education and who are or will be enrolled in an accredited seminary/divinity school.  
  • Other qualifications are:
    • The applicant must be a North Carolinian by birth or a long time resident or a resident for the past twelve (12) consecutive months.
    • The applicant must be an active member of a North Carolina Baptist Church or be involved in mission organizations OR have been active and involved in the past with continued strong church involvement.
    • The applicant must demonstrate financial need.
    • The applicant must have a clear sense of call to Christian ministry with preference given to an applicant whose vocational goals are focused on missions.
    • The applicant must demonstrate ability to pursue an academic program successfully (3.0 GPA out of 4.0).
  • The scholarship is granted for one year and a recipient may apply for additional years (maximum of three). 
  • A scholarship recipient will be expected to provide a written report of her year's experience to the Scholarship Committee at the end of the academic year.

NC Need Based Scholarship

  • Applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements:
  • Be a North Carolina resident as well as an N.C. resident for tuition purposes, as defined by the N.C. Residency Manual
  • Be enrolled as an undergraduate student in at least 9 credit hours at a qualifying private North Carolina campus
  • Demonstrate a certain level of financial need based on calculated
  • Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • FAFASA is only accepted at SEBTS for this specific state scholarship. This does not include any Title IV funding.
  • Upon completion of FAFSA, please designate Southeastern as your school of choice. For those seeking the NC Need Based Scholarship the FAFSA deadline for the upcoming 2014-2015 year is April 15th.

Mary E. Bivins Foundation

  • Scholarships for students in an undergraduate or graduate program leading to a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field that prepares the student to preach the Christian religion and with the intent to serve as a pulpit pastor
  • The student must be committed to studies and maintain a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or above or a cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0 or above
  • The student must be a permanent resident of one of the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle
  • The student must enroll and pass a minimum of 12 hours each semester at the undergraduate level or 9 hours each semester at the graduate level
  • Scholarship awards are based upon $1,000 per semester for those students classified as a freshman or sophomore, $2,000 per semester for those students classified as a junior or senior and $3,000 per semester for graduate students to be used for tuition, books and academically related fees

Charles B. Keesee Educational Fund

  • The Charles B. Keesee Educational Fund provides assistance to Baptist students who are preparing to enter Baptist ministry or religious work in the Baptist denomination
  • Scholarships are available to students who were residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia at least one year prior to initial attendance
  • Must be Master's level student on the main campus with the following exceptions:
    • students in the MDiv in Biblical Counseling may be ineligible for grants*
    • students in the Church Planting Program (2+2) are eligible to apply
    • students in the following Master of Arts degrees are ineligible for grants:
      • MA in Christian Ethics
      • MA in Biblical Counseling
      • MA in Christian Education and Biblical Counseling*
      • MA in Christian School Administration
      • MA in Women's Studies
      • MA in Christian Studies
  • Part-time students can apply with the possibility of receiving awards of reduced amounts
  • Application for the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters is usually made available in January each year online at www.cbkeesee.com
  • Application deadline is April 1 for the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters. October 1st for Spring only.
  • DMIN Students are now eligible for funding:
    • Deadline dates for submitting an application are May 1st for fall and spring semester and November 1st for spring semester only.
    • Grades must be submitted with the application if you are already in the DMIN program.
    • Student must reapply each year in order to continue to receive the grant.
    • Submitting an application does not guarantee approval of a grant.
