Alabama

Baptist Foundation of Alabama

Description: Scholarships for college & seminary students who are bona fide residents of the State of Alabama, are members of an Alabama Baptist Church (Cooperating with the Southern Baptist Convention), are full-time students, and who maintain a 2.0 GPA. Awards are made each academic year. Applications must either be scanned and submitted online, or mailed in to the Foundation

Baptist Convention: WMU Alabama


Description: Applicants must be a woman at the graduate student level from Alabama or a daughter of a Southern Baptist Missionary serving from AL with a ‘B’ average, and planning to take a minimum of 9 credit hours. The scholarship amount is up to $1,000 per semester and will not exceed $2,000 per year. Scholarships are renewable up to 6 semesters.

Pryor Scholarship

Description: Applicants must be members of an Arkansas Southern Baptist Church to apply for the Pryor Scholarship. This scholarship is for those pursuing a degree in religious studies, international mission work, or home mission work thorough the Southern Baptist Convention.

Red River Baptist Association Seminary Scholarships


Description: Arkansas Baptists may apply for a scholarship to attend one of the Southern Baptist seminaries. Student must be enrolled to attend or be attending as a full time student, with at least a 2.0 GPA. Student must be a male and have a vocational call to be a pastor, preacher, or evangelist. The Student must be an active member or have been an active member of a Southern Baptist Church in Arkansas before starting Seminary (Preference will be given to members in Red River Baptist Association prior to seminary). Award: $6,000 per semester, and can be used for any tuition, fees, room and board, and textbooks.

Grace –Seminary Scholarship

Description: With preference to students from central Arkansas, in particular, members of Immanuel Baptist Church Little Rock. Amounts vary by need. A recipient must normally be a full-time student. Applicants must, have an interest in pursuing church vocation in a Southern Baptist Church or with IMB, NAMB, or a state Baptist Convention. Description: Available for Master level students who are preparing for full-time church vocation in a Southern Baptist Church, with IMB, NAMB, or a state Baptist Convention. Applicants must be enrolled full-time. Awards are estimated $1200 per year. Preference is given to students who are members of First Baptist Sheridan. California

California Southern Baptist Convention: Ministry Scholarship
Description: Applicants must be from California, college or seminary students preparing for Christian service (funds are given to pastoral ministers first), must have a 2.5 GPA, enrolled in at least 9 hours, and involved in some type of approved ministry with a Southern Baptist church. The application should be completed and turned into the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@sebts.edu. The scholarship award will not exceed $500 per semester, and the total will not exceed $1000 per academic year.

Colorado

Colorado Baptist General Convention: College Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is available to full-time, college students who are residents of Colorado, and are preparing for church related vocation. Students must be entering into their sophomore year or later, and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students must also be an active member of a Southern Baptist Church.

The Calvary Foundation

District of Columbia Baptist Convention

Description: Eligible students must: demonstrate financial need, be preparing for full-time ministry, a full time student, are an active member of a cooperating DCBC church and must maintain a grade point average of 2.75. Students who either do not complete their seminary training or who are not actively seeking to go into full-time or part-time professional ministry upon completion are expected to repay the Foundation for their scholarship.

Florida Order of the Eastern Star

Description: Florida Order of the Eastern Star is a scholarship for students preparing for leadership in various ministry fields: Ministers, Missionaries, Directors of Youth Leadership,etc. Applicants must be a legal resident of Florida, and preference will be given to students who are at least a Junior in College who Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious Leadership grant. Amounts for the scholarship will vary per student.

Churches Homes Foundation, Inc.

Description: Applicant must be a resident of GA in one of the following counties: Cherokee, DeKalb, Forsyth, Henry, Clayton, Douglas, Fulton, Rockdale, Cobb, Fayette, or Gwinnett. Georgia Baptist Foundation

Description: Scholarship for graduate students who are residents of Georgia:

  • Student must be a Georgia resident (Georgia driver's license, Georgia tax return, Georgia tag receipt, etc.) at the time of enrollment in seminary.
  • Once established as a Georgia resident, students must meet ONE of the following conditions:
  • Must be a full-time Master's level student taking classes on campus (extension center students may also receive funding, see below.)
  • For the semester ending with graduation, this requirement of "full-time student" will be waived.
  • All applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must be endorsed by a church affiliated with the Georgia Baptist Convention.
  • OR
  • If endorsed by a church other than a cooperating Georgia Baptist Convention church, student must provide a letter of recommendation from his or her home church in Georgia (a church affiliated with the Georgia Baptist Convention) stating the dates of membership in that church and involvement in the life of the church.
  • Amounts:
  • $400 per semester for full-time, Master’s level on-campus students.
  • PhD and EdD candidates are eligible during the academic phase only (non-dissertation phase).
  • $200 per semester for extension center students.
  • DMin candidates will be considered eligible for a one-time grant of $200 for the last semester prior to graduation.

Deadlines: Scholarships for the Fall semester must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office by September 15, and February 15 for the Spring semester.

Georgia WMU Scholarship

Description: For women residing in Georgia, or daughters of Southern Baptist missionaries from Georgia, who have been accepted at Baptist seminaries. Scholarships are granted up to $600 annually for not more than three years. Awards are based on evidence of need; appreciation for WMU; academic ability; character; commitment to Christian service; and references

Ty Cobb Scholarship Program

Description: Undergraduate students who are Georgia residents and demonstrate financial need. Student must have completed at least 30 semester or 45 quarter hours of academic credit with an average of "B" or higher in an accredited college. Description: Scholarships for Illinois students who are members in good standing for at least one year with churches affiliated and cooperating with the Illinois Baptist State Association. BFI scholarships are for Illinois Baptists who are full time students. The scholarship amounts:

Bachelor’s/Masters: $2,000 for the year

Seminary Students: $175/credit hour (15 credit hours max)

Associate Degree: $1,000

Charles B. Keesee Educational Fund

Description: The Charles B. Keesee Educational Fund provides assistance to Baptist students who are preparing to enter Baptist ministry or religious work in the Baptist denomination. Scholarships are available to students who were residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia at least one year prior to initial attendance

  • Must be Master's level student on the main campus.

Risden P. Reece Scholarship

Description: Applicants must be enrolled in a Divinity School (Preference given to SEBTS students), and must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need. Woman's Missionary Union of North Carolina Scholarship

The WMU NC scholarship is funded through the Edna R. Harris Endowment Fund. This scholarship was established in honor of Mrs. Harris and her love and work for missions.
The scholarship is limited to women who have completed a Bachelor's level of formal education and who are or will be enrolled in an accredited seminary/divinity school.
Other qualifications are:

  • The applicant must be a North Carolinian by birth or a long time resident or a resident for the past twelve (12) consecutive months.
  • The applicant must be an active member of a North Carolina Baptist Church or be involved in mission organizations OR have been active and involved in the past with continued strong church involvement.
  • The applicant must demonstrate financial need.
  • The applicant must have a clear sense of call to Christian ministry with preference given to an applicant whose vocational goals are focused on missions.
  • The applicant must demonstrate ability to pursue an academic program successfully (3.0 GPA out of 4.0).
  • The scholarship is granted for one year and a recipient may apply for additional years (maximum of three).

NC Need Based Scholarship

Description: Applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements:
