Admissions

For Commuters

A student who lives off campus and attends classes or seminars one or two days a week may choose to stay in commuter housing. Commuter housing is designed to provide basic accommodations at an affordable price. Commuter spaces are reserved on a nightly basis. Reservations may be made for the same night(s) for the entire semester. To apply for Commuter Housing please view and print the 2010 Commuter Application.

Married Family Commuters
Several Flaherty Farms apartments are reserved for married family commuters.
These 2-bedroom/2-bath apartments are set up to accommodate families who commute to the campus together.

  • Apartments are furnished with a double bed, two twin beds, nightstands, dressers, living room and kitchen furniture. There is a kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Cookware, dishes, towels, linens and pillows are not furnished.
  • Television and phone access is not included.

Female Only Commuters
A space in a Lolley Dorm room is reserved for female-only commuters. This 2-bed dorm room has a bathroom that is shared by two other ladies. Female commuter housing is limited to female students enrolled in the current semester.

  • The dorm room is furnished with two twin beds, a nightstand, a dresser and two desks.  There is a kitchen with a stove, refrigerator and microwave located in the dorm. Towels, linens and pillows are not furnished.
  • Television and phone access are provided in the lobby of the dorm.

Male Only Commuters
Male commuter housing is limited to male students enrolled in the current semester. Southeastern Seminary and the Sleep Inn, located at 12401 Wake Union Church Road (behind Burger King and KFC), have agreed to work together in providing commuter housing at an affordable price for our male commuter students. The Sleep Inn sets aside a block of rooms for Southeastern.  The Housing Office reserves the rooms, pays for the rooms and charges your student account for the stay.

Please note:  The terms of this agreement are specific and limit check-in times and also limit the ability to cancel a reservation on short notice.  Be sure to carefully read the terms below before choosing this option.  If the terms are not workable for your situation, you should make your own reservations through Sleep Inn at their regular rate.

To qualify for the seminary commuter rate students must:

  •
    • Goldston 217-02

Reservation is for one night only and individuals must check out each morning by 10:00 a.m.  The Goldston guest apartment contains the following: double bed, bed/bath linens included, desk and desk chair, nightstand and lamp and bathroom
    • Call the Housing Office and identify themselves as commuters-(919) 761-2400
    • Each individual has to make their own reservation with the Housing Office before 3:45 p.m. Monday to Friday.   Reservations made after 3:45 p.m. should be made through the Sleep Inn and will be subject to regular hotel rates.
    • Student accounts must be paid promptly to avoid late payment penalties.  Credit cards are not accepted.
    • Individuals can check in at the Sleep Inn after 4:00 p.m. for the room assignment.  Please identify yourself as a commuter from Southeastern and they will confirm your reservation on a list provided to them by the Housing Office by 4:00 p.m. each day.
    • Individuals must check out of their room and remove all of their personal belongings each morning by the Sleep Inn’s check out time.  Failure to do so could cause additional charges up to a full night’s room charge at the Sleep Inn rate to be added to your student account.
    • If you need to cancel a reservation, you must do so with the Housing Office before 3:45 p.m. Monday to Friday. Cancellations will not be accepted after 3:45 p.m. Monday to Friday and your account will be charged the full amount.
    • Reservations for Saturday and Sunday must be made and/or cancelled by 3:45 p.m. Friday.  Reservations or cancellations cannot be made on Saturdays or Sundays.
    • Commuting students will share a hotel room with one other person. The price for the room is $38/student including all taxes and fees. This price includes all of the hotel amenities: indoor heated pool and spa, high-speed Internet access in all rooms, coffee maker, hairdryer and ironing board with iron, fitness room, Two-line phones, speaker, data port, voicemail, Complimentary deluxe continental breakfast, free local calls, cable TV and USA Today.
    • If you know who you would like to room with, then both parties must call the Housing Office and indicate their roommate choice.
    • If we do not have anyone to pair you with by 3:45 p.m. (see NOTE below), the Housing Office will call your cell phone number to give you the option of contacting the Sleep Inn and renting a room at their regular rate or renting the back up commuter apartment available for one person on campus.
*Please Note: If no more than one commuter has made a reservation or if the last person to make a reservation creates an odd number of students making reservations, that person will have the option of staying at the Sleep Inn at the regular hotel rate or of being re-assigned to the guest apartment at Goldston 217-02 on campus, which is a bedroom with a bath.

Any questions about this arrangement may be directed to the housing office at (919) 761-2400.
