On April 15, Southeastern’s Board of Trustees enthusiastically approved the launch of the public portion of Phase II of the Scholarship on Fire! Campaign with an initial goal of $17 million and an emphasis on Fulfilling the Great Commission. Opportunities to enhance the seminary and equip students to take the gospel to the lost and hurting are abundant.  When you support Southeastern, your gift makes an immediate and enduring impact.

The challenge in planning for Phase II came in determining which priorities to emphasize first.  After much prayer and patient discussion, the administration identified several areas where support is essential.

First, we ask that you strongly consider supporting the Southeastern Fund on a regular basis. To sustain the progress we have made to date, we must raise $5.5 million during Phase II of the campaign. When you support the Southeastern Fund, you provide President Akin the resources he needs to lead with confidence as he embraces new opportunities and steers us clear of unforeseen challenges.

In addition to the Southeastern Fund, the campaign features the following priorities:

• Raising funds to purchase furnishings for Patterson Hall - $700,000
• Renovating the library – $3,000,000
• Program support for the Lewis A. Drummond Center for Great Commission Studies - $2,000,000
• Growing Southeastern’s academic endowment (endowed chairs) – $3,500,000
• Providing an endowed scholarship fund for undergraduate students – $1,000,000
• And, planned giving (i.e. encouraging alumni and friends to include us in their wills and other estate plans) – $1,300,000
