What is the Southeastern Fund?
The Southeastern Fund provides an opportunity to support the ongoing operational needs at Southeastern. In recent years, it has become an increasingly critical part of funding the work of training men and women to go make disciples of all the nations. Your support for the Southeastern Fund helps keep tuition affordable which, in turn, enables students to go serve wherever God leads.
Because you are giving, the strategy is working. Our graduates are taking bold risks for the sake of Christ and the gospel. They are planting churches in Washington, Boston, New York, Miami, Tampa, and Denver. They are serving in closed countries in some of the world’s most challenging and often hostile contexts. Graduates are reaching the ends of the earth in Jesus’ name, and the Southeastern Fund is a part of helping them go and give their all for the glory of God.
What if I can only give a small amount?
One of the most common objections to making a gift goes something like this, “My small gift does not really matter,” or “I will give when I can make a more meaningful gift.” But, we know from Scripture that the smallest gifts are sometimes the largest. Last year, the smallest gift to the Southeastern Fund came from the piggy bank of a 7-year-old girl. There is nothing small or insignificant about the heart of a girl who wants Christ to be glorified among the nations through the ongoing work of preparing people for Kingdom service. In God’s economy, this gift of $2 was perhaps the largest gift we received. Please know that we are grateful for every single gift, and we endeavor to use it wisely and trust that God will multiply it through the ministries of well-prepared graduates until He comes.
What difference does it make?
The costs for a full-time student training for ministry are approximately $600 less per year than they otherwise would be because of support that is given to the Southeastern Fund. This means a savings of more than $2,000 for every full-time student who completes a Master of Divinity.
Of course, the real impact of your gift is best seen in the lives of our graduates who are serving as pastors, teachers, counselors, coaches, and missionaries across the U.S. and in more than 41 countries around the world.
