What is EQUIP?
Southeastern Seminary believes that theological education is best done in partnership with the local church. Therefore, we established EQUIP – the Great Commission Equipping Network – as an initiative to identify and/or develop internship programs in local churches and para-church organizations to provide practical theological education through internships.
The mission of SEBTS is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by equipping students to serve the church and fulfill the Great Commission. To assist in this mission, the EQUIP Network has four goals:
Churches and para-church organizations can participate in EQUIP in a variety of ways. The majority of participants provide intensive mentoring and training for our students through field ministry experiences in the local church or para-church organization. Students may earn up to 12 hours of credit toward their degree by participating in these Field Ministry courses. Some participating organizations also have qualified leaders who can instruct additional practicum courses through their internship program. It is possible for some EQUIP participants to offer up to 24 hours of academic credit through EQUIP courses.
