Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary has identified some churches with very intense internships that include a significant academic teaching component. These internships serve to train the student in more than just mentoring but also in instructing the student in academic areas. A student can earn up to 9 credit hours of field ministry and up to an additional 9 hours of practical theology courses in conjunction with many of these equip Members and Centers.
