Undergraduate New Student Orientation

Congratulations on your acceptance to the College at Southeastern for Spring 2010! 

Welcome new undergraduate students!  We are glad that the Lord has led you to be a part of the Southeastern Seminary family.

Been accepted, now what?

 Mark your calendar:

  • Spring Classes begin Thursday, January 28th
  • Undergraduate New Student Orientation dates - Friday, January 22nd,  Monday, January 25th and Tuesday, January 26th

Attend and RSVP for New Student Orientation:

Orientation is for new students who are enrolling at the College at Southeastern for the spring semester. This event takes place on Friday, January 22nd, Monday, January 25th and Tuesday, January 26th and all days are mandatory for all new students (please see below for exceptions).  There is a new student fee of $75.00, which must be paid when you RSVP. Students will:

  • receive pertinent information for starting school
  • hear about policies and procedures
  • make student ID's
  • meet for academic advisement
  • register for classes
  • make payments
  • and meet the faculty and staff.

ALL students are required to RSVP:

  • All students are required to RSVP (those who are required to attend as well as those who are not required to attend) by clicking here and filling out the appropriate online form; please respond to whether you will be attending NSO or not.  
  • After filling out the online form (ticket) please print the confirmation page for your records.  You will not need to show this at Orientation and will not be receiving a hard copy "ticket" but will want to keep it in case there are any problems.  
  • Deadline to RSVP is Thursday, January 21st 

Exceptions and Designations:

Please note the specific requirements concerning New Student Orientation for each designated category below.  If you do not fall into one of the following categories you are required to attend all of NSO and make payment by clicking herePlease NOTE that all students are required to RSVP here.

  • Distance Learning Students (Online and Extension)
    • are welcome to attend any/all of NSO activities but not required, however, are required to pay the new student fee at RSVP; if you live within 120 miles we would encourage you to attend matriculation on Tuesday, January 26th to finalize payments, receive your new student ID, etc. 
  • Dually Enrolled (High School Students)
    • are welcome to attend any/all of NSO but not required to attend or make payment; however, we would encourage you to attend matriculation on Tuesday, January 26th to register for classes, finalize payments, receive your new student ID, etc. 
  • Certificate Students (Biblical Women's Institute, Certificate in Mission Studies, Certificate in Church Music, Church Music Diploma)
    • are welcome to attend any/all of NSO but not required to attend or make payment; you may stop by to receive your new student ID between 10:00am - 4:00pm on Monday, January 25th or make arrangements with The Locker at (919) 761-2334.
  • Non-Diploma Students
    • are welcome to attend any/all of NSO but not required to attend or make payment.

 Prior to Attending Orientation:

  • Housing - Remember that if you are incoming first year students in the College at Southeastern who are under 22 years of age, and are not married you are required to participate in the Residence Life program and required to live on campus.  For more information about Residence Life please visit the website.  If you do not fit this description and planning to live in campus housing, you will need to contact the Housing Office to make arrangements at (919) 761-2400, housing@sebts.edu or visit the website.  If you have not already submitted your housing application, you may begin the process by going to the Housing Office application portion of our website.
  • Financial Aid - Upon acceptance you may begin applying for financial assistance through our financial aid office.  Please make sure to check out the website for time sensitive deadlines or contact the Financial Aid office at (919) 761-2317.
  • Employment - You may also check out employment opportunities once you are accepted to Southeastern by visiting the website or contact cgriffin@sebts.edu (919) 761-2365 for more information. 
  • CampusNet - Familiarize yourself with CampusNet, the student portal where you will find information on Moodle, Around Southeastern (the campus announcements blog), Student Life, helpful forms, and your Southeastern 1Card by clicking here.
  • Distance Learning Students - Please visit the "Approved for Admission, what next?" section of the Distance Learning website for more information or contact the office at online@sebts.edu or 1-866-816-0273.
  • Certificate Students - Please contact the respective office on how to register and to receive more information regarding your certificate.
