Registration after Acceptance into the Program
\\\\\\\\\
Upon official acceptance into the DMin program, a student has up to one year to register for the first seminar. Failure to matriculate in that time period, without prior permission from the Director, will result in the need to repeat the admissions process beginning with the pre-application stage.
Student Status
Students are required to maintain continuous year-round enrollment for the length of the entire program. This program demands a high level of commitment from each student to actively participate with a cohort group for at least three years.
A student in the degree program missing a semester will be charged a program penalty fee of the equivalent of 1credit hour tuition and must register for DMN 8000-Continuous Enrollment. Each semester missed will be counted toward the maximum program length of 6 years.
The Doctor of Ministry program requires a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 6 years. Extensions in time beyond the 6 year limit require the consent of the Director of the DMin program each semester. If continued enrollment status is granted, the student must enroll in DMN 8000-Continuous Enrollment (see Continuous Enrollment Extension Request DM Form 4) and pay a 1 credit hour tuition continuous enrollment fee for the semester for which the extension occurs. Extensions will not exceed 4 semesters.
A graduate or student from another school may enroll for a seminar or workshop in the DMin program but will be required to complete a non-degree partial application form.
A DMin graduate may return to audit a DMin seminar or workshop at any time for reduced tuition cost. Graduates will contact the DMin office for audit instructions.
Transfer of Credit
\\\\\\\\\
The Director of the DMin program will consider the transfer of credit hours from accredited programs on a case-by-case basis. Minimally, all transfer students must complete satisfactorily at least 14 credit hours of DMin work at Southeastern, including the Ministry Project and Project Report (6 credit hours), the Project Design Workshop (3 credit hours), and the Research Design Lab (1 credit hour).
Seminar Attendance
Withdrawal
Any student seeking a complete and final withdrawal from the program should first seek counsel from the Director of the program. To withdraw means the student is leaving the program and does not intend to continue his or her work. Requests for withdrawal must be submitted in writing through the DMin office. Failure to do so will result in the charge of the Continued Enrollment Fee of 1 credit hour tuition. (see Withdrawal From Enrollment DM Form 3).
Students who withdraw may not apply for re-admission into the program except under extreme or rare circumstances. The Director and the DMin Faculty Committee must approve the re-admission. Even if an exception is granted, the applicant must repeat the admissions process beginning with the pre-application phase.
