Mission & Purpose
The L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture seeks to engage culture as salt and light, presenting and defending the Christian faith and demonstrating its implications for all areas of human existence.
The Center has a two-fold purpose: (1) To convey graciously and apply effectively the Christian worldview to all areas of culture and to the human condition; (2) To encourage and support the Church in its redemptive work.
The programs, conferences and events planned by the Center provide a meaningful venue where vital cultural issues are discussed and where the Christian worldview remains central to the discussion. Our events generally are free and open to the public.
Annual events already hosted by the Center include conferences, lecture series and discussion nights. Some previous guest lecturers and speakers for such events include Dr. James Como, Dr. Gary Habermas, Mr. Walter Hooper, Dr. John Lennox, Dr. John Montgomery, Dr. J.P. Moreland, Dr. Phil Roberts, Andy Crouch, Nancy Pearcy and Dr. Gene Veith.
Future plans of the Center include providing seminars and workshops for pastors and lay people to help them understand and be prepared to speak Christianly regarding the cultural issues challenging the church today. Other future events are designed to help professionals in various fields of expertise integrate their Christian faith with their profession by thinking about their work within a complete Christian worldview.
