Research Assistant Program

Former CFC Research Assistant Shares

Program Description:
The Research Assistant Program at the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith & Culture is offering an opportunity for three or four qualified students to work with the director in conducting research for the CFC.

FAQs:
Who should apply?
Any Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary student, who has an aptitude for research, has an interest in the general work of the CFC, and be willing to give five (5) hours a week conducting research. Only those students who are able to commit giving the specified amount of time per week for research should apply as positions are limited.

How many students are accepted?
We are only able to accept three or four qualified students as research assistants.

What kind of time commitment does the research assistant position require?
Research assistants are expected to commit five (5) hours a week for conducting research as well as being available to meet with the CFC’s director for occasional progress meetings.

Will I receive any sort of compensation for serving as a research assistant for the CFC?
At this time the CFC does not provide any sort of stipend or class credit for serving as a research assistant. This position, does however, provide the opportunity to expand one’s knowledge base in a particular area of research, to practice and improve one’s research skills, and to receive one-on-one research guidance from the CFC’s director. Also, there is opportunity to receive exposure of one’s work if the research produced merits posting on the CFC’s website or possibly being published.

How do I apply?
Apply for the 2012-2013 academic year by filling out an application form and sending it to Sarah Sheaffer at ssheaffer@sebts.edu by Friday, August 24, 2012.

Upcoming Events
All spring 2012 events have now concluded. Fall 2012 event details are forthcoming.
