The L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture seeks to engage culture as salt and light, presenting and defending the Christian faith and demonstrating its implications for all areas of human existence.
The Center has a two-fold purpose: (1) To convey graciously and apply effectively the Christian worldview to all areas of culture and to the human condition; (2) To encourage and support the Church in its redemptive work.
On Friday, February 24 at Southeastern's Center for Faith and Culture Dr. Leland Ryken addressed faculty, students, and community guests remembering the influence of the King James Bible. Dr. Ryken first spoke on "Reflections on a Life with the King James", and secondly on "The Cultural Influence of the King James Version."
Speaker: Leland Ryken (PhD, University of Oregon) is Professor of English at Wheaton College. He has authored or edited several books, including The Word of God in English, The Dictionary of Biblical Imagery, and The Complete Literary Guide to the Bible. He is a frequent speaker at the Evangelical Theological Society and served as literary stylist for The Holy Bible, English Standard Version.
