Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary would like to invite you to an event with a decorated member of the US Army’s most elite fighting corps, Jeff Struecker, as our speaker for a Monday night banquet. On April 16, 2012, 6:30 pm, the Board of Visitors banquet will take place at Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville, NC.
Currently, Jeff is an associate pastor and one of our PhD students. A particular event in his service to our country has been retold in a best-selling book and Hollywood film, Black Hawk Down.
This is a pivotal time in American history, and the gospel is the only hope for the nation we love. If the culture is to experience the intensely-prayed-for-revival and subsequent reformation, the church must rise up in the strength of the Spirit and preach the gospel with great courage and conviction.
Jeff’s life and ensuing message is largely about this much needed courage, and deeper still; the much needed conviction that is required of the church in this dark time in our history. His challenging message is accompanied by warmth, gratitude and grace. There is a unique convergence of authentic faith, deep humility and courageous patriotism flowing in and through Jeff’s life. The prayer is that these virtues would become endemic in all Christians.
