On September 9, 2011, Dr. Bruce Ashford, Associate Professor of Theology and Culture, Dean of the College at Southeastern and a Fellow at the Center for Faith and Culture kicked off the Center's fall 2011 event schedule with an invigorating lecture on Christianity and culture. Contending that "the biblical narrative makes clear that culture and cultural engagement are instrinsically involved in our [the Church's] mission," Ashford urged attendees to first understand that everything exists under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Then, he exhorted listeners to live and to encourage other Christians to live in light of this reality.
