MAIN SPEAKERS
SINCLAIR FERGUSON Sinclair Ferguson is senior minister of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbia, S.C., and professor of systematic theology at Westminster Theological Seminary. A graduate of the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, he is the author of some two dozen books, has authored numerous articles and has contributed to various symposia. His writing interests have ranged from works of scholarship to books for children. He has served as minister of two congregations in Scotland: one on Unst, the most northerly inhabited island in the United Kingdom, and the other at the center of Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland.
PAUL TRIPP Paul Tripp is a counselor and faculty member of the School of Biblical Counseling at Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF) and lecturer in practical theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Penn. He is the author of Age of Opportunity: A Guide to Parenting Teens, War of Words: Getting to the Heart of Our Communication Struggles, Instruments In the Redeemer's Hands and numerous articles.
BREAKOUT SPEAKERS
DANIEL AKIN Daniel Akin has been president of Southeastern since January 2004. Known by many to embody the combination of a strong leader, scholar and evangelist, Akin has served as a pastor and authored numerous books and journal articles, including the popular God on Sex.
DAVID NELSON David Nelson is a sought-after teacher and speaker at conferences and churches across the nation. At Southeastern, Nelson teaches Christian Theology and is the senior vice president for academic administration.
RUSSELL S. WOODBRIDGE Russell Woodbridge is assistant professor of theology and church history at Southeastern. He served as a senior pastor in Henderson, N.C., and spent two years in Austria as a church planter. Prior to seminary, he worked for an investment bank as vice-president of equity trading in Frankfurt, Germany.
PETE SCHEMM Pete Schemm is dean of Southeastern College at Wake Forest and associate professor of theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the editor of the Journal for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. He serves on the pastoral staff at Open Door Baptist Church and has also served as pastor, associate pastor, and interim pastor of churches in North Carolina and Georgia.
BRUCE A. LITTLE Bruce Little, a native of New England, serves as the associate dean of theological studies and is professor of philosophy of religion at Southeastern. Prior to this, he served as pastor of several churches, including a counseling ministry, over a period of 32 years. He is published in academic journals and is the author of a recent book titled, A Creation-Order Theodicy: God and Gratuitous Evil.
STEVEN WADE Steven Wade has served as the pastor of Poplar Spring Baptist Church in Zebulon, N.C., for eight years and serves as assistant professor of pastoral theology at Southeastern. He is married to Jenny and they have one son, Caleb.
FRANK CATANZARO Frank Catanzaro is in his ninth year of serving as a professor of counseling at Southeastern. Before then his ministry was to the local church in various locations including South Carolina, Louisiana and Mississippi. He has worked as an international missionary and has had the privilege of preaching and teaching in five continents and many countries.
GREG HEISLER Greg Heisler serves as assistant professor of preaching at Southeastern. Heisler joined the faculty in 2005, having served as a senior pastor for the past seven years in churches in Kentucky and Florida. He earned his M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
ROBERT JONES After nearly nineteen years as a senior pastor, Robert Jones now serves as an assistant professor of biblical counseling at Southeastern. Jones is an adjunct instructor, certified conciliator and church conflict intervention team leader with Peacemaker Ministries and an adjunct instructor with the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors. Jones has written Uprooting Anger: Biblical Help for a Common Problem, four ministry booklets, and numerous articles for the Journal of Biblical Counseling.
SAM WILLIAMS Sam Williams is an associate professor of counseling at Southeastern, where he has taught since 2000. He worked in a private practice as a licensed clinical psychologist for 10 years and refers to himself as a "recovering psychologist." Williams received his undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona and did his master's and doctoral work at the California School of Professional Psychology.
