The following explains library policies with reference to the Archives and outlines the procedure whereby researchers can obtain access to the Collection for research purposes. We do look forward to serving you in your scholarly research using the Schaeffer Collection.
Southeastern is only the custodian of this Collection as the Francis A. Schaeffer Foundation maintains ownership of the Collection. The policies and procedure below reflect the stipulations and permission requirements that are in accord with contract between Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Francis A. Schaeffer Foundation. We sincerely hope you will not find these requirements/restrictions to interfere with your research and use of this resource
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary encourages research in the Francis A. Schaeffer Collection and welcomes inquires about the collection. Archival work continues on the collection, but research is permitted on a limited basis.
Access to the collection requires the approval of Dr. Bruce A. Little, Director of the Francis A. Schaeffer Collection. Researchers may access the Collection during normal Archives hours with an approved Access Request. Instruction for obtaining access approval is given below. Appointments to access the Collection at times other than normal Archives hours are at the discretion of the Archivist and, ordinarily, should be made with the Archivist at least one week prior to the time of the visit. Questions may be directed to the Archivist at firstname.lastname@example.org. No material in the Collection may be removed from the patron area of the Library Archives and no digital copies of the material may be made. Additional details are stated on the Access Request form.
