The Doctor of Philosophy

Through Southeastern’s PhD program, students are sure to engage in exceptional scholarship by studying under premier evangelical scholars who have authored numerous significant works in their respective fields. Students will participate in advanced research that advances theological understanding for the sake of the church and the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Students will also receive focused mentorship by an accomplished scholar throughout the year who will guide in the process of publishing and presenting the student’s research. The mentor will also aid the student in proposing a dissertation that will make a significant contribution to scholarship.

The Doctor of Education

The Doctor of Education degree is a research-based, terminal degree that focuses on all aspects of educational leadership. Students pursuing the degree enhance and expand their skills in teaching all age groups, leading complex organizations, and designing solutions for 21st century ministry. Graduates of the program are involved in higher education teaching and leadership, local church ministry, curriculum and publishing, and denominational leadership.

The Doctor of Ministry

The Doctor of Ministry program at Southeastern is a 31-hour professional degree designed to equip ministry leaders to fulfill the Great Commission in their own ministry contexts. The DMin program offers a number of specializations, including church revitalization, counseling, women’s ministry and more. Southeastern’s DMin program provides the essential tools to equip leaders in various contexts to strengthen their ministries and further develop them as leaders. The program is designed as a modified residency model to encourage and provide further education for ministry leaders all over the globe.

Master of Theology

The purpose of Southeastern’s Master of Theology degree program is to provide the post-MDiv student with an opportunity for advanced, guided research under the supervision of a faculty member in a special area of theological study.
