The EQUIP Network desires to empower and educate faithful disciples through local churches and ministry organizations. If you are an individual seeking credit through EQUIP, we would be happy to help your church or ministry organization become an EQUIP Partner. 

Students can gain up to 36 hours of credit depending on his/her degree that includes both field ministry and practicum courses. 

All EQUIP courses are 3 credit hours and cost the normal rate of tuition. See the tuition and fees page to learn more Tuition and Fees

Any qualifying participants within your local church or ministry organization who have applied and been accepted at SEBTS. We recommend that participants become members of your church/ministry organization before participating. *Please Note* the EQUIP Office does not supply SEBTS students for any mentorship. While you are encouraged to submit your application, those Churches/Ministry Organizations who do not have credit-seeking students ready to participate will receive a "Pending Approval" status and will not be approved until students are actively ready to participate.

Yes! All EQUIP courses are offered on the undergraduate level. Review the course catalogue to identify which courses apply towards the student’s respective degree.

Create a course schedule based on your mentorship plan and then customize your first syllabus. We will help provide direction as you work with your team to develop a plan and syllabi.

We suggest that you develop a general mentorship plan before you apply. Once you have a vision for your mentorship, fill out the application and we will be happy to help you refine and finalize your mentorship.

Unlike campus-based courses, EQUIP courses require just one student to participate. 

You can begin offering courses at the beginning of each semester that includes spring, summer and fall.

Leaders must submit an updated syllabus for each class being offered along with a list of student names and corresponding ID numbers no less than four weeks before the first day of the semester. Consult the SEBTS Academic calendar for specific dates.

While you have the freedom to offer any of the EQUIP courses that complement your current mentorship, it is best to offer courses that apply towards a students’ degree plan. Some courses may apply towards the students’ core requirements while others may apply only as electives. Review the course catalogue to identify the courses that apply towards the students’ respective degree.

We provide Field Instructors with a small stipend of $150 per student (up to 10 students) for each practicum they lead as a small token of our appreciation at the end of each semester. 

The EQUIP Office will send out a end-of-semester email that includes a Grade Submission Form wherein you can post your student’s grade report. The grade report must include the number and letter grade for each assignment in addition to the final grade for the course. 

Once the EQUIP Network Office receives the Grade Submission Form from the Mentor, they will send all grades to the Registrar for official submission. Each student must also complete a course evaluation on Moodle for each practicum in order to view their grade. 

To lead a Mentored Internship course, you must have a ministry-related masters degree + approximately five years ministry experience.

Mentors do not need to submit the student’s coursework. The Mentor is required to submit a “Student Evaluation Form” where in he/she will include if the student passed or failed the course. 

The mentor and student are required to meet for a minimum of 14 hours over the course of 12 weeks.
