IMB Missionaries Housing

Southeastern Seminary strives to provide affordable short-term housing to missionaries with the International Mission Board while they study at SEBTS.

To qualify for missionary housing, applicants must be:

  1. Currently under appointment with the IMB and,
  2. Currently receiving salary and benefits from the IMB.
  3. Currently on stateside or equivalent assignment with the IMB.

Flaherty Farms

Missionary housing is provided rent-free, but is reported as income on a 1099 Form for tax purposes. Utilities are charged each month to missionaries on a flat-rate basis. Assignments will be made based on availability. Missionaries are encouraged to make application at least one to two years in advance of their intended stateside assignment. Requests for missionary housing can be made by email to [email protected].

Availability is limited and preference will be given to students enrolled in the seminary for a minimum of eight semester hours. Missionary Commuter Housing is exempt from this requirement and may be used by missionaries for short stays.

Occupancy of missionary housing is not to exceed two continuous semesters. Verification of IMB status will be required.

Types of Missionary Housing

Southeastern has a limited number of furnished missionary apartments available. Assignment preference will be given to those who are enrolled in courses leading to a degree. These apartments are completely furnished, including linens, towels, kitchenware, washer, and dryer. Basic utilities (water, sewer, electric, and, in some apartments, gas) are included, as well as standard cable television and high speed internet. The flat-rate utility charge is $330 per month. These apartments are not pet-friendly.
