Sheldon AlexanderSoutheastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) announced the new role of Sheldon Alexander as Alumni Communications Specialist. He will be joining Alumni Development after almost 25 years of service to SEBTS.

Jonathan Six, Director of Alumni Development and Denominational Relations, said, “His background of serving Southeastern students makes him an invaluable asset to our division.”

Alexander will assist in the development of the Southeastern Alumni Association by connecting SEBTS alumni to the institution and one other. He will spend significant time communicating with alumni, discovering their needs and fostering relationships within the SEBTS family.

“After working for 24 years in the registrar, I’m excited to work with alumni,” Alexander said. “We will be working to encourage and minister to SEBTS graduates as they serve the Lord in the local church, denominational agencies and the world.”

Alexander holds a Bachelor of Arts from West Texas A & M University in Canyon, Texas and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

In high school and college, Alexander planned to be the 3rd generation to lead in his family’s department store chain, but the Lord called him into full-time ministry. He attended seminary in 1984 and worked in retail sales to support his family until coming to Southeastern in 1989.

Alexander and his wife, Carolyn, have two sons who also live in Wake Forest with their families. Jason and Dinara have four children and Emil and Kristin have two children.

“At one point or another our graduates from the last quarter century have had some sort of contact with Sheldon,” Six said. “I am not sure I could think of a better person to fill this important role.”
