Evelyn Barham Carter, a North Carolina native, died at the age of 88 on Saturday, July 4, 2015.

In a 2011 interview, Carter shared about her time at Southeastern. “The Lord Jesus Christ has blessed me in so many ways with his love, guidance, good health and strength to fulfill my goal and work for fifty years at Southeastern, a place that is dear to my heart,” she said. “To God be the glory, great things he has done!”
