About

Our mission is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by equipping students to serve the Church and fulfill the Great Commission.

What We believe

Theological training for real-life ministry

At Southeastern, we equip you to serve the Church and fulfill the Great Commission because we believe each of us has a part in God’s plan to share his love with the world. This means everything we do — diving deep into theology in the classroom, building friendships on campus, partnering with local churches — is preparing you to go out into the world to minister wherever God is calling you.

Our History

In 1950, Southeastern was established as an institution of higher learning with the support of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Cooperative Program. From an SBC conference in Chicago to the preserved historical land and renovated buildings of our Wake Forest campus, we have built a space for a community that’s passionate about the Great Commission. 70 years later, we’ve grown to over 5,000 students committed to learning and growing together in Christ.

Our students hail from 44 countries and all 50 states

75+ graduate and doctoral tracks that offer theological training for a variety of contexts

  • Southeastern faculty members share a vested interest in fulfilling the Great Commission across academic disciplines, as well as a passionate desire to invest in students both inside and outside the classroom. These values are lived out on a peaceful campus and in a family-oriented community that maintains a small-town atmosphere.
