Redeem + Restore: A Counseling Conference
2026 Theme: Redemption in a World of Sorrow
Join Southeastern at the Redeem and Restore Counseling conference on March 27-28, 2026, as we focus on Redemption in a World of Sorrow. As counselors and ministry leaders, we often see the reality of a fallen world and seek to provide biblical hope in the midst of suffering. Over these two days, whether you are a counselor, student, or lay pastor, you’ll be equipped and encouraged to walk with others through lament and suffering while offering expert care, compassion, and biblical truth.
This conference features Kelly Kapic, Jeremy Lelek, and Southeastern faculty Tate Cockrell and Kristin Kellen as keynote speakers plus breakout sessions led by Eliza Huie, Brian Walker, Michael Gembola, and Southeastern faculty Sam Williams. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn from expert counselors on how to care well through the ministry of counseling.
Register by February 1, 2026 to lock in the Early Bird ticket price: $40 for students and $60 for general admission.

Our Speakers
Dr. Tate Cockrell
Dr. Cockrell was born and raised in Laurel, MS, but lived in Aberdeen, Scotland as a child because of his father’s job in the oil industry. Prior to SEBTS, he was Pastor for Member Care at The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham Alabama. He has been in ministry since 1990, serving the local church and several para-church ministries. He has also taught either full-time or adjunctively at five different graduate schools. Dr. Cockrell travels throughout the United States and internationally speaking in conferences on marriage, family, grief, parenting, divorce, recovery, and men’s issues. He has been married to his wife, Wendy, since 1993. They have one daughter, Tatum, and twin sons, Preston and Spencer.
Dr. Jeremy Lelek
Jeremy Lelek has been a counselor since 1999 and has been a Licensed Professional Counselors since 2003. He holds a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision, an MA in Counseling, and a BA in Psychology. He is also the president of the Association of Biblical Counselors, the author of “Biblical Counseling Basics” (2018), co-host on the podcast Speak the Truth, a council member for the Biblical Counseling Coalition, and an adjunct professor at Regent University.
As a counselor, he seeks to use the gifts and knowledge God has given him to most effectively minister to those who seek his help for counseling issues. There are many “voices” in counseling, and over the past decade, he has learned that the clearest voice able to heal the extreme pain, disappointment, anger, fear, addiction, and brokenness of counselees is that of God (as revealed in His Word, and through His Spirit).
He firmly believes that God’s Word is an infallible truth that abides for all eternity. Peter tells us, “The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever” (I Peter 1:25).
His aim as a counselor is to impart this divine truth in a relevant manner for his clients in such a way that it reveals the true nature of their problems (be it marriage, parenting, depression, anger, anxiety, addiction, homosexuality, sleeplessness, etc.), and in hopes it will move them toward true and lasting healing. He works hard to extend the love of Jesus to every person who walks through his door whether they embrace the Christian faith or otherwise.
