How can women serve their local church in every stage of life? Join us here at Southeastern on March 7, 2026, as we discover how women are “Gifted for the Church.” Speakers Kelly King, Hunter Beless, and Emily Dean will explore the significance of spiritual gifts, and you’ll get hands-on training in breakout sessions taught by women’s ministry leaders. You'll discover the unique ways you can be equipped to leverage your life for the Great Commission and make disciples in your context.

This year at Cultivate, we will be offering a buy-in lunch option for attendees, so don’t worry about leaving campus for lunch! Come enjoy the opportunity to fellowship with other conference attendees while hearing from conference speakers Drs. Kelly King and Emily Dean. Lunch will take place in the fellowship hall at Wake Forest Baptist, on the campus of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Tickets are $15 per attendee, and space is limited—be sure to register before the event is sold out!

Our Speakers

Hunter Beless

Hunter Beless loves helping people know and love God more, especially through his word. She is the founder of Journeywomen, the author of several children’s books, co-author of “Titus: Displaying the Gospel of Grace,” and is most likely to be found snuggling up with a good book alongside her four kiddos. Hunter’s favorite places to do ministry are within the four walls of her home and in her local church.

Emily Dean

Emily Dean serves as Assistant Professor of Ministry to Women at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Her husband, Dr. Jody Dean, serves as Professor of Discipleship and Ministry Leadership at NOBTS. They live in the New Orleans area and have two children: a college student, Lydia, and a middle schooler, James. Prior to God calling them to teaching ministry, Jody and Emily served churches in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Emily is author of “Women Leading Well: Stewarding the Gift of Ministry Leadership” by B&H Academic.

Kelly King

Kelly King is the Women’s Minister at Quail Springs Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She is also an assistant professor of Christian Ministry at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, teaching the Ministry to Women classes. Before serving Quail Springs, she was the Manager of Magazines and Devotional Publishing and Women’s Ministry Specialist for Lifeway Christian Resources. King is the author of “Ministry to Women: The Essential Guide for Leading Women in the Local Church,” and she has been a frequent contributor to many publications, including several Lifeway Women’s Bible studies. She and her husband, Vic, enjoy spending time at their family cabin in Colorado as well as serving young families in their church.
