Dr. Kristin Kellen

Kristin Kellen (MA, EdD, PhD) is an Associate Professor of Biblical Counseling and the Associate Director of EdD studies. Her focus is counseling children, teens, and their families. Kristin is the author of Counseling Women and the co-author of The Gospel for Disordered Lives and The Whole Woman. She is married to Josh and they have four children: David, Sophia, Joy Anna, and Elizabeth.

Dr. Nate Brooks

Dr. Nate Brooks joined the faculty at Southeastern in 2023 after previously teaching at Reformed Theological Seminary. Dr. Brooks teaches both introductory and specialized counseling courses, covering theological method, history, and the evaluation of psychological theories as well as the supervision of students throughout their practicums. He also serves as the Counseling Minister at Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville.

Dr. Brooks is the founder and director of Courage Christian Counseling, a small practice that specializes in providing virtual counseling for survivors and perpetrators of abuse and trauma. He also frequently does consulting and training for churches across multiple denominations on the topic of abuse and trauma.

Dr. Brooks lives in Youngsville, NC with his wife, Kate, and three children. Kate too is a counselor, with a specialty focus in chronic pain and illness. Dr. Brooks enjoys distance running in his free time.

Dr. Brad Hambrick

Pastor of Counseling the Summit Church in  Durham, NC. He also serves as Assistant Professor of Biblical Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, a council member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition, has authored several books including God’s Attributes: Rest for Life’s Struggles, and served as general editor for the Becoming a Church that Cares Well for the Abused (ChurchCares.com) project.

 

Dr. Sam Williams

Sam R. Williams, PhD (California School of Professional Psychology – San Diego) is Professor of Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina where he has taught for 21 years. He was in private practice in Lake Charles, LA for 10 years as a licensed clinical psychologist and has been counseling for 40 years. He loves his wife, Mindy; his three sons and daughter; North Wake Church where he is an elder; and Brasil. He tolerates and funds his wife’s 2 cats and 2 dogs.
