Charles B. Keesee Educational Fund
Qualifying Southeastern students receive between $4,150 to $7,750 per year towards their tuition from the Charles B. Keesee Educational Fund. The Keesee fund benefits Baptist students who are residents of the states of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee or West Virginia and who are enrolled on campus as students of many ministry-related degree programs, including the Master of Divinity. The WMU NC scholarship is funded through the Edna R. Harris Endowment Fund. This scholarship was established in honor of Mrs. Harris and her love and work for missions.
The scholarship is limited to women who have completed a bachelor’s degree and who are or will be enrolled in an accredited seminary/divinity school.Applicants must also:
- be a North Carolinian by birth, a long time resident or a resident for the past 12 consecutive months.
- be an active member of a North Carolina Baptist Church, be involved in mission organizations or have been active and involved in the past with continued strong church involvement.
- demonstrate financial need.
- have a clear sense of call to Christian ministry with preference given to an applicant whose vocational goals are focused on missions.
- demonstrate ability to pursue an academic program successfully (3.0 GPA)
The scholarship is granted for one year and a recipient may apply for additional years (maximum of three). A scholarship recipient will be expected to provide a written report of her years of experience to the Scholarship Committee at the end of the academic year.
