Biography
Ivan is happily married to Tammy. He has two adult daughters and two grandchildren. Ivan earned a PhD in Humanities from the University of Texas at Arlington and a BA and MA from The Criswell College in Dallas, Texas. His dissertation and doctoral research focused on the Christology of the Liberation Theology movement. He began serving at SEBTS in 1996 as Professor of History and Philosophy and is known for the History of Idea program at Judson College. He has authored Tweetable Nietzsche. An avid coffee roaster, inveterate bibliophile, gym-rat, (and a score of other peculiarities), Ivan originates from Texas migrating to North Carolina some 25 years ago where he greatly appreciates the cooler weather. He served as a missionary among the Nahuatl peoples in remote parts Mexico for two years from 1982-1984, returning there many times.
