Giving, Going, Together: Inaugural Giving Days Raises Support for Southeastern Initiatives

Southeastern Seminary hosted its first annual Giving Days on April 27-May 1, inviting donors and supporters to participate in a weeklong campaign to raise funds for five different initiatives.
Over the course of the week, a collection of stories highlighted the work of each initiative and its role in Southeastern’s mission to equip students to serve the church and fulfill the Great Commission. Monday through Friday, supporters had the opportunity to give towards the Southeastern Fund, the Danny Akin Global Missions Endowment, the Alumni Association, the Parents Fund, and the Legacy Society.
Each of these ongoing initiatives engages a different facet of Southeastern’s donor base and provides supporters the opportunity to give in ways that are meaningful to them. Every gift given, no matter the size, has an enduring impact on the education and growth of students preparing to go wherever God calls them.
During this year’s Giving Days, supporters contributed over $21,000 to the Southeastern Fund and over $13,000 to the Global Missions Endowment. In addition, 10 new members became a part of Southeastern’s Alumni Association, joining a network of fellow alumni and receiving benefits that will continue to equip them in ministry for years to come. In addition, two new members entered the Legacy Society, a group of men and women who desire to leave a legacy of faithfulness through lasting, planned gifts. In total, nearly $40,000 was raised over the course of the week to support the mission of Southeastern and Judson College.
“Southeastern Giving Days provided the opportunity to share the Southeastern story and all that God is doing in and through our students, faculty, staff, and alumni,” commented Drew Davis, director of financial and alumni development. “These giving days will become an annual tradition that invites the broader Southeastern family to invest in our students, our faculty, our campus, and most importantly our mission to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by equipping students to serve the church and fulfill the Great Commission.”
