Join Dr. Stephen Eccher for the 2025 Reformation Study Tour!
Step back in time to learn about the rich heritage of the Protestant Reformation in the actual places where history was made. On the Reformation Study Tour, the dazzling worlds of reformers like Luther, Zwingli, Hubmaier, and Calvin will come alive, as participants visit historic sites related the various reformations of the sixteenth century. Travelers will experience the reformation narrative in a vivid and unforgettable medium. Participants will also take the time to connect the reformers past labors with the present gospel work conducted in our contemporary twenty-first century context. Along the way we will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the church’s recovery of believers’ baptism after 1000+ years’ absence, and the very first Reformed “memorial” Lord’s Supper, both of which took place in 1525.
Here’s a taste of what participants will experience:
- Visit the Castle Church where Martin Luther posted his famous 95 Theses
- Tour a concentration camp and reflect on the unintended consequences of dangerous Reformation ideas
- See where Martin Luther translated the New Testament into German as a gift for his beloved people
- Stand in a great hall where reformers debated the nature of the Lord’s Supper at Marburg
- Worship in a rural Swiss cave where Anabaptists were forced to gather under persecution for their free church beliefs
- Explore the sanctuary where Ulrich Zwingli not only recovered expositional preaching, but also where he oversaw the first Reformed “memorial” Lord’s Supper
- See John Calvin’s pulpit and his famed Genevan Academy
